Dance Hall LED Lighting Upgrade

Our board resolved to find a way to upgrade our lighting at the dance hall from non-dimmable fluorescent bulbs to dimmable LED bulbs.  We anticipate a regular savings on electrical use as well as less effort in changing out bulbs and ballast as they are at the end of their life.

Thanks to the Golden Valley Electric Foundation for the grant we received that helps up pay substantially for the materials for this project.   This foundation that helps non-profits  is funded by the Good Cents roundup program from members who round up their bill to the next dollar, so also, thanks to our GVEA member-owners for their generosity.

If there are folks with some electrical knowledge, we’d welcome volunteers.  Not much is required except standing on ladders looking up.

Annual meeting Oct. 2017

The Northern Lights Council of Dancers had their annual membership meeting Oct. 8, 2017.   We have been successful in accomplishing a number of goals this past fiscal year with more challenges ahead to take care of the hall from which we all benefit.   We have improved our governance and financial management, passed our audit and weren’t as far off of our budget as we had anticipated.  Moving forward, we have to continue to reduce our energy footprint and see to the maintenance of the 1982 era building.
